“In the How I See it series, Ortiz explores the genre of landscape painting, which explode with his vivacious and joyful color ways. From a city perspective to bucolic hills, mountain views, barns and a tractor in a field, he pushes the envelope on how a landscape might be interpreted, giving himself freedom to play. “

“In my world,” Ortiz says, “there really are no mistakes. I’m not trying to be an Impressionist painter. I’m just making it up as I go along.”
